Whether you’re on your morning commute or washing the dishes, a good podcast can make a boring activity far more fun. We’ve collected together five our of favourite podcasts to listen to in 2020.
1. Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster
British comedians Ed Gamble and James Acaster invite guests to their fantasy restaurant in this food-themed podcast. Featuring Ed and James’ signature wit and a variety of brilliant guests, this is a great podcast to lift your spirits. One of our favourite episodes is episode 65 with Romesh Ranganathan.
2. Grounded
Much-loved documentary filmmaker, Louis Theroux, used his time stuck at home during lockdown to interview a range of guests on a podcast for Radio 4. With eleven episodes to enjoy, guests include actor Chris O’Dowd and writer Jon Ronson.
3. The Adam Buxton Podcast
English comedian, Adam Buxton interviews a diverse range of guests on his podcast. The Adam Buxton podcast has been around since 2012 so if you’re late to the party there’s a brilliant backlog of episodes to keep you entertained!
4. Decoder Ring
Decoder Ring dissects and explores the origins of cultural trends, objects, and habits. Hosted by Willa Paskin, notable episodes include Gender Reveal Parties and The Karen.
5. The Last Days of August

TW: references to suicide and violence
An Audible Original, The Last Days of August is a podcast by Jon Ronson which explores the events leading up to the death of 23-year-old porn star, August Ames. Ames committed suicide following a Twitter pile-on after she tweeted something deemed homophobic. Yet, as Jon Ronson begins exploring how cyberbullying led to her death he discovers there is far more to the story.
