Fitness Apps – Which ones actually help you to get results!

With so many fitness apps around, it can be hard to find one that really works for you.

The good news – if you’re trying to get healthier or stronger, apps are a great way to do it.

The bad news – there’s such an abundance of apps, that it can be next to impossible to find the right one for you.

We’re here to help. Whether you’re looking for ways to monitor your health, gain personalised workouts, or track your progress.

First thing’s first

Before you begin, you need to consider what you want from a fitness app. This will help you find the best ones for you.

Figure out if you want to get stronger, healthier, or lose weight. Knowing this will help narrow down your options, and ensure you find the best app for you.

Now that that’s out the way, let’s take a look at the best apps (in my opinion).

Yoga Studio: Mind & Body

You’ve likely heard of this app, especially if you’re looking for a way into yoga/improve your technique.

The workout app offers you guided yoga classes, regardless of your experience or skill level.

You can also personalise this app, by stitching together different exercises and making it custom.

You will have to pay for this app – various plans are available to suit different budgets. You also get a free trial for seven days to confirm its the app for you.

Map My Fitness

This is a completely free app, but you will be subject to various ads throughout. I guess its worth it.

Map My Fitness is a favourite amongst many, with features that support all types of activities and exercises.

For instance, you can find features for cycling, swimming, running and yoga.

I love how this app allows you to set goals – motivation to really push yourself.

One You Couch to 5k

Couch to 5k is becoming ever more popular. It’s designed to encourage more people to get into exercising, ready for a 5k marathon.

Obviously, this app is aimed at beginners – but it gives you a sense of community throughout.

The training program lasts for 9 weeks, but you can work at your own pace and achieve your own goals.

StrongLifts 5×5

This app doesn’t require you to do more than three 45 minute workouts per week. In fact, that’s all that’s needed.

The workouts are a little intense, especially if you’re a beginner. That’s how you start to see results, though.

Strava

This is one of the best running apps around, with such a big following. You can use this to track runs, cycles, and swimmers.

This helps you to push yourself and is predominately aimed at those already into running or cycling.

I hope this helps you find the best fitness app for you. These have really helped me see results and also helped me just get out of bed and exercise.

Let me know which one you decide to use, and how it works out for you.
